It's cold, rainy, Thursday and October. Could there be any better reason to stay indoors today and make Peanutbutter Chocolate Acorns? We knew you'd agree. Unless you're.... well, a little... squirrelly.
This is a fun, festive Fall recipe to get the kiddos involved with - and a crowd pleaser to boot. Our 50 Shades of Fall Pinterest guests went nuts over these. (Sorry, couldn't resist...)
You'll need:
- Bag of Hershey's Kisses
- Bag of Mini Nutterbutter cookies
- Can of chocolate frosting (can also use melted chocolate chips in place of canned frosting)
- Bag of mini chocolate chips
- First, spread thin layer of chocolate frosting (or melted chocolate chips) on one end of a Nutterbutter cookie. This is the "glue" for the Hershey's kiss.
- Then, "stick" one Hershey's kiss to the Nutterbutter cookie.
- Next, dab a bit of frosting onto the opposite side of the mini Nutterbutter and apply mini chocolate chip.
- Ta-daaaah! Acorn!
Warning: these are entirely poppable. As in tic-tac poppable. We suggest squirrelling a few away in the freezer... for later...
Enjoy!
